According to East County Times reporting on March 18, 2026, Arkia Wade announced her candidacy for Baltimore County Council District 9 as a Democratic candidate. Gloria Nelson, President of Turner Station Conservation Teams Inc., stated that Wade has demonstrated strong commitment to community service and dedication to strengthening neighborhoods. The district encompasses Dundalk, Edgemere and Rosedale following the expansion of the County Council.
