They work alongside the state Senate to pass Maryland’s annual budget and determine how tax dollars are allocated to community services and infrastructure projects. Raised in Anne Arundel County within a blue-collar family, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from Clemson University after attending Anne Arundel Community College following his father's work as a bricklayer. Before entering public service, Chisholm spent two decades in the mortgage lending industry and is currently a small business owner operating a 15,000 square foot fitness facility in Severna Park. He identifies as a conservative guiding member of the Maryland State Freedom Caucus who advocates for integrity, transparency, and accountability while serving on the Health and Government Operations Committee. His legislative focus includes fiscal responsibility, energy independence, and holding government accountable to lower taxes and reduce regulation for working families and small businesses.
