This office is important because its members determine how tax dollars are spent to support student learning and the overall quality of schools in the community.

Appointed by Gov. Wes Moore in 2025, Hampton’s official school-system biography describes him as a chemical engineer for the U.S. Army and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He is married with two children and highlights his involvement as a CCPS parent, CAC member, Capstone mentor for CCST, and regular board-meeting attendee.

Cecil County Public Schools announced Hampton's appointment by Governor Wes Moore to represent District 4 for the remainder of the term until a successor is elected in 2026. Board of Education President Diana Hawley welcomed him, noting his longtime positive involvement demonstrates strong commitment to schools and students, with familiarity that will help as he steps into board work.
