View all candidates in this raceChad King Wilson Sr. is a 19-year veteran educator, coach, and educational activist based in Frederick County, Maryland, who was nominated by County Executive Jessica Fitzwater to fill an open seat on the Board of Education. He holds a B.A. in History with a minor in Sociology from Saint Francis University and an M.Ed. in Special Education and Disability Studies from the University of Pittsburgh. Currently teaching Alternative Education and Social Studies at Watkins Mill High School, he also serves as head football coach, assistant track coach, and sponsor of the Black Student Union. Wilson is a native of Pittsburgh who began his academic career with Montgomery County Public Schools before moving to Frederick County where he resides with his wife Louise and two children attending local schools. He advocates for inclusive education, stating that every child should have access to an inclusive, diverse, world-class education that serves as "the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Wilson volunteers in the community as a youth coach and mentor while serving on boards of directors for both the National Education Association and Maryland State Education Association.

Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater nominated Chad King Wilson Sr. as her candidate to fill an open seat on the Board of Education following Nancy Allen's resignation, which created a vacancy through December 2026. The nomination came after a public process where 52 letters of interest and résumés were submitted for consideration before the County Council would review his candidacy at an upcoming meeting. Executive Fitzwater described Wilson as understanding complex issues faced by the Board with deep community roots, noting he brings extensive classroom experience teaching middle and high schoolers over 19 years.
