She began her career teaching in Baltimore City and County Schools before serving as an FBI agent, where she frequently taught cases alongside her investigations. Returning to education, she served as a principal at two schools and vice chair of the Baltimore County School Board until resigning in February 2022 to run for the legislature. Sworn into office on January 11, 2023, she currently serves on the Judiciary Committee. Her mission focuses on building stronger communities through education, empowerment, and collaboration to create a more just and equitable society. She emphasizes that every person should have access to quality education and resources to reach their full potential.
