Members of the Maryland House of Delegates represent their local districts in the state legislature by proposing, debating, and voting on laws that impact public education, healthcare, and transportation. They work alongside the state Senate to pass Maryland’s annual budget and determine how tax dollars are allocated to community services and infrastructure projects. This office is vital because delegates shape the statewide policies and spending priorities that directly influence the daily lives of all residents.

She was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus at age nine, survived against medical odds due to her grandmother's prayers and Medicaid, which inspired her lifelong advocacy for healthcare access and equity. A former member of the Baltimore City Democratic State Central Committee, she has served as a key leader in the Coppin Heights Community Development Corporation, helping launch The Mill on North food hall and partnering with YouthWorks to mentor young people. Her platform focuses on safe streets, fair housing, affordable healthcare, clean air and water, and economic opportunities for justice-impacted residents. She views her life story of struggle and survival as a foundation for fighting for the needs of all Baltimoreans in Annapolis.
