Born in Quito, Ecuador, and the son of an Ecuadorian immigrant, he is a lifelong resident of Montgomery County and a graduate of St. Mary's College of Maryland. His professional background includes service as a Montgomery County police officer and experience as a small business owner. In the legislature, he serves on the Environment and Transportation Committee and chairs the Maryland Legislative Latino Caucus. Fraser-Hidalgo focuses on environmental protection, having spearheaded the state's fracking ban and the Clean Cars Act of 2022. He also advocates for public education equity, living wages for workers, and expanded protections and benefits for immigrants.
