His core belief is that every child deserves to feel safe, supported and seen. As a father and grandfather, he understands how much families depend on schools that put students first. He states parents feel ignored, teachers feel overwhelmed, and students are being left behind in the current system.

Seidel participated in a Frederick County Board of Education candidate forum hosted by Better Maryland Schools at C. Burr Artz Public Library on Thursday, March 15, 2026. Eight of the race's 14 candidates attended including Seidel alongside Heather Fletcher, Maria Carrasco, Sam Rosenbloom, Tyler Walker, Shelley Potter, Chloe Celeste and Dean Rose. The forum covered controversial policies about parental rights, school budget questions and academic standards with strong disagreement among candidates.
