She is the first female State's Attorney in Washington County and has worked in public safety since beginning her career as an Assistant State's Attorney in 1994. A lifelong Republican, she holds a Bachelor's Degree from Rutgers University Douglass College and a Juris Doctor from George Washington University Law School. Her prosecutorial experience includes handling approximately 50 homicides and conducting nearly 300 jury trials, with specialization in felony sexual assault crimes and child abuse cases. She is married to Jeff Cooper, a retired police officer of 37 years, and has two children and one granddaughter.
