View all candidates in this raceJasmine M. Jackson is a lifelong resident of Anne Arundel County who has worked in the Register of Wills office since 2008, earning every promotion through various departments including Records, Deputy, Human Resources and Chief Auditor. She was appointed to fulfill the term and vacancy of her predecessor in June 2024 after former Register Erica Griswold pleaded guilty to misconduct in office. Jackson supervises over 25 employees with an average of over 10 years of experience per employee and considers the Register of Wills to be her career with no higher ambition or interest in other political offices. She is seeking election for a term beginning June 2026, having already performed the role for over two years by that time. Her campaign emphasizes that this position is not a political stepping stone but rather a dedicated public service commitment she has built over nearly two decades.

I've worked hard over the years to build trust with the public. I've answered the phones, responded to the emails, tracked down the records, and stayed late when someone needed help. Because that's what public service means to me — showing up, and doing it right.
This is not a political stepping stone for me, I am only interested in working in and improving the Register of Wills office. What started as a Summer job almost 20 years ago has become my career.
I want to build educational initiatives that empower people before they're in crisis. Those that have taught me and those I have trained are dedicated to serving the all members of our community.
A good office starts with a good team. I'll focus on recruiting, training, and retaining the kind of staff you want to work with — knowledgeable, respectful, and efficient.
