He began working at age 15 on his uncle's dairy farm and joined Level Volunteer Fire Company in 1993 at age 16, eventually serving as Chief from 2004-2009 and President from 2011-2013. Gallion holds a political science degree from Harford Community College and has served as Agricultural Specialist for Harford County Government since April 2016. He founded Hopewell Farm in 1999, which now manages 70 beef cattle, and serves on multiple community boards including the Harford County Farm Bureau and Rock Run Cemetery Board.
