A native of Southern Maryland raised in a spiritually grounded household, he serves on the House Environment and Transportation Committee and holds roles including Chaplain for the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland and Vice Chair of the Southern Maryland Delegation. He is a vocal advocate for voting rights, housing justice, and criminal justice reform, having successfully championed the Paystub Transparency Act in 2024. His legislative focus includes modernizing infrastructure, expanding access to affordable housing, improving public transit, and protecting the rights of working families within District 27B, which spans parts of Calvert and Prince George's Counties. He credits God and values instilled by his parents for guiding his ministry and public life with integrity and accountability.
