Born in New Jersey to a teen mother, she was raised by her step-father after moving frequently between military bases during her childhood. She relocated to Maryland ten years ago with her husband, who works as a local police officer and former educator. Clancy previously owned a small business as a birth doula and apprenticed as a home birth midwife while earning degrees in Sociology, Psychology, and Counseling. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she co-founded "SOMD Mask Makers" to donate over 4,500 masks to healthcare providers and first responders. Her campaign focuses on bringing constituent voices to Annapolis regarding healthcare access, education funding, and civil rights. She describes herself as a neighbor committed to courage, compassion, and commitment for Northern St. Mary's County.
