State Senator · Legislative District 30 · Maryland · 2026 Primary
Maryland State Senators represent their local districts in the General Assembly, where they propose and vote on laws covering issues like education, transportation, and public safety. They are responsible for approving the state’s annual budget and have the unique power to confirm or reject the Governor’s appointments for judges and agency leaders. This office is critical because its decisions determine how state tax dollars are spent and which policies govern your local community.

With encouragement from neighbors across the district, I'm excited to announce my candidacy for State Senate (District 30)!
Public service is about listening, being present in our communities, and solving the problems that impact your quality of life.
I believe in practical, evidence-based solutions that work for everyone. Here's where I stand on the issues that matter most to District 30 families.
Even as a member of the minority party, I made it a priority to work across the aisle and find common ground. My focus has always been simple: make government work better for the people it serves.

Affordability
Fighting to lower costs and make Maryland more affordable for working families and small businesses, addressing high utility bills, taxes, fees, gas prices, grocery prices, and unaffordable utility bills.
“I'll work to find innovative, flexible mechanisms to address escalating fees and energy bills, putting more money back in your pockets. I'll push for smarter budgeting, prioritizing essential public services and long term investments in quality of life improvements.”
Infrastructure
Protecting the Chesapeake Bay and investing in resilient infrastructure without burdening working families, including transitioning from failing septic systems to modern public sewer.
“One of the biggest environmental challenges in Anne Arundel County is outdated septic systems that contaminate drinking water and pollute the Bay. Instead of continuing to spend millions reacting to pollution after the fact, I led efforts to fix the problem at its source.”
Agriculture
Supporting farming community and preserving rural character of district, reducing overregulation on farm stands and farmers markets, protecting productive farmland.
“Anne Arundel County is home to nearly 400 farms, many of them right here in District 30, and they are a vital part of our economy, our heritage, and our way of life. I've had the honor of representing our farming community on the Anne Arundel County Council.”
Public Safety
Building safe communities through honest partnerships between law enforcement and residents.
“I believe in practical, evidence-based solutions that work for everyone. From families struggling with high energy costs to the need for safer roads, modern infrastructure, and transparent budgets.”
Community
Fostering trust, opportunity, and ensuring people feel supported and invested in where they live.
“I want to hear your concerns, be part of our neighborhoods, and make decisions that strengthen our communities and protect Maryland's values.”
