He has been part of the Cecil County community for more than 30 years and graduated from Rising Sun High School, where he met his wife Melissa; they have been married for 20 years and have two daughters who attended Calvert Elementary, Rising Sun Middle, and Rising Sun High schools. Ferdinando coaches local youth sports for over ten years and currently coaches the JV Softball Lady Tigers, which introduced him to many Cecil County students. Rooted in his Christian faith, he served on the Launch Team that brought Freedom Church to Rising Sun and participates in faith-based small groups. As a parent of CCPS students, Ferdinando has an intimate view of school strengths and challenges. His goal is to collaborate with stakeholders to create a learning environment that is safe, challenging, intriguing, creative, and serves as an effective conduit for student transition into trades and education they wish to pursue.
