Clerk of the Circuit Court · Prince George's County · 2026 Primary
The Clerk of the Circuit Court serves as the chief record-keeper for the county, managing all court documents for civil and criminal cases as well as property deeds and land records. This official is also responsible for issuing marriage and business licenses and swearing in various public officials. By overseeing these administrative functions, the Clerk ensures that legal records are accurately maintained and that essential government services are accessible to the public.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from the University of Florida and his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law before beginning his legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Beverly J. Woodard (Ret.). El Amin previously served as a family law attorney with Maryland Legal Aid and an associate at the Law Offices of Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr., P.A., and was elected Clerk in 2018 for which he is seeking a third term. He remains active in community organizations including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the Maryland Circuit Court Clerks’ Association, and served as President of the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association. El Amin emphasizes integrity, commitment, and endurance drawn from his passion for long-distance running to guide his service to the community.
