View all candidates in this raceMary Beth Pirolozzi serves as Register of Wills for Allegany County, having been appointed to the position in August 2017 and subsequently elected in November 2018 and again in 2022 for four-year terms. Her extensive career includes twelve years as Executive Director of County United Way, Inc., covering counties in Maryland and West Virginia, followed by over eighteen years in state government as District Administrator to two state senators. She also spent sixteen years at Frostburg State University working in personnel, finance, development and alumni programs before her current role. A graduate of Frostburg State University with a B.S. in Business Administration and M.Ed. in Interdisciplinary Business, Political Science and Public Policy, she maintains active community involvement through the Beall Institute Board, Bridges to Opportunity Committees, and Imagination Library of Allegany County. She previously served as City Councilwoman of Cumberland from 2007 through 2013 and is an active member of Our Lady of the Mountains Parish.
