As a grandparent of four grandchildren currently enrolled in three TCPS schools, he brings personal family connections to the district. Butler spent most of his career teaching, coaching, and volunteering within the schools. He is seeking election as the voice for teachers, students, and parents.
After careful consideration, I've decided to run for a seat on the Board of Education for District 4 in Talbot County.
As a proud product of Talbot County Public Schools, a retired educator with over 20 years of experience in the TCPS system, and a grandparent of four grandchildren currently enrolled in three TCPS schools, I am committed to ensuring our children receive a quality education in a safe learning environment.
I'd like to see a greater focus on discipline in the classroom, higher level of expectations set for our students and accountability from all.
Support for our teachers is critical if we want to see improvement in our students' success and statewide and national rankings.
If elected, I'll be the voice for our teachers, students and parents.
