He comes from a family with deep roots spanning over 70 years in Harford County, where both sides of his family settled after World War II. His maternal grandfather served at Aberdeen Proving Ground and fought in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam earning a Purple Heart, while his paternal grandfather worked at Perry Point VA Medical Center and owned the Harford Lanes bowling alley. Ciufo earned dual degrees in accounting and finance from West Virginia University before building a career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and later launching his own small business that helps local companies hire financial professionals. He is married to Kate, a first-grade teacher, and they are raising three sons in Bel Air. Ciufo serves on nonprofit boards, coaches his sons' baseball teams, and acts as Treasurer at his family's church.
