County Council Members serve as the legislative branch of county government, passing local laws and approving the annual budget that funds public schools, roads, and emergency services. They set local tax rates and make final decisions on land use and zoning, which determines where new homes and businesses can be built. This office is responsible for prioritizing how your tax dollars are spent and managing the long-term growth and infrastructure of your community.
View all candidates in this racePatrick Adkins is a lifelong Wicomico County resident born and raised locally who owns PNR Auto Center in Mardela Springs after taking a leap of faith to open it with his wife Rene in 2008. He describes himself as not a career politician but a husband, father of three daughters, and small business owner who has spent over 15 years turning wrenches and building a life for his family in Mardela Springs. Adkins attended Parkside High School and Wicomico Vo-Tech where he earned a 4.0 GPA with Vocational Honors Society recognition and received a Chrysler Scholarship as an automotive technician. He is also an active member of the Mardela Springs Fire Company and grew up learning responsibility from his blue-collar parents who taught him about honest work and doing things right.
