View all candidates in this raceRobert Edwin Kramer, Jr. is a lifelong Dorchester County resident and current member of the Dorchester County Council representing District 1, seeking re-election in 2026. A Republican, Kramer is the owner of Kramer Welding and REK Firearms in Cambridge and also serves as a rescue diver for the Mid-Shore Dive Team. He was first elected to the County Council in November 2022, defeating longtime Democratic incumbent and Council President James Newcomb by a lopsided margin. He has served on the Dorchester County Board of Health since taking office. District 1 includes the communities of Church Creek, Elliott's Island, and Hooper's Island. He will face Democratic challenger David Beverley in the November 3, 2026 general election.
