House of Delegates Member · Legislative District 41 · Maryland · 2026 Primary
Members of the Maryland House of Delegates represent their local districts in the state legislature by proposing, debating, and voting on laws that impact public education, healthcare, and transportation. They work alongside the state Senate to pass Maryland’s annual budget and determine how tax dollars are allocated to community services and infrastructure projects. This office is vital because delegates shape the statewide policies and spending priorities that directly influence the daily lives of all residents.
View all candidates in this raceShannice Anderson is a Democratic candidate running for the Maryland House of Delegates in Legislative District 41 in 2026. A first-time candidate and alumna of the Emerge Maryland training program for Democratic women running for office, she is competing in a crowded primary for one of three seats in the west Baltimore City district, which covers communities including Wyndhurst, Yale Heights, and Edmondson. The race features several open seats as incumbents Malcolm Ruff and Sean Stinnett are both running for State Senate rather than seeking re-election, with only longtime incumbent Samuel I. "Sandy" Rosenberg seeking re-election to his seat after more than four decades in the legislature. No Republican filed for the district, meaning the Democratic primary winners will effectively win the seats. The primary is June 23, 2026, with the general election on November 3, 2026.
