Previously, she served as a National Board Certified Teacher and instructional coach for over a decade before winning a seat on the Prince George's County Board of Education in 2020. During her tenure on the Board, she spearheaded programs to support vulnerable students during the pandemic and championed funding for underperforming schools. Her platform focuses on reducing property tax burdens for seniors, creating high-wage careers through skills training, pursuing community-based development that prioritizes local voices over outside developers, and protecting the environment. She resides in Glenarden with her husband Larry and their three children and is a member of Zion Church and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.
