A graduate of Stephen Decatur High School in 1982, she began her career at the Law Office of Harry S. Groton, Jr., P.A., where she gained 14 years of experience in estates and trusts. She was subsequently hired by the late Register of Wills Charlotte K. Cathell, serving as Chief Deputy Register of Wills for over 18 years. Upon Cathell's retirement, Westcott was elected Register of Wills on November 7, 2018, and was sworn into office on December 1, 2018, and was re-elected in 2022. A Republican, she is a member of the Maryland Register of Wills Association's technical committee and serves on the Board of Directors for Worcester County GOLD (Giving Other Lives Dignity), Inc. She and her husband Tom, a longtime teacher at Worcester Preparatory School in Berlin, enjoy biking, hiking, and gardening.
