View all candidates in this raceTim Thomas is a Republican candidate seeking election to the Maryland House of Delegates representing Legislative District 1A, which encompasses all of Garrett County and a small portion of Allegany County. He previously ran for the same seat in the 2022 Republican primary, finishing behind winner Jim Hinebaugh, who went on to win the general election and is the current incumbent. Thomas is now running again in the June 23, 2026 Republican primary alongside Dan Duggan, a former chief judge of the Garrett County Orphans' Court. The winner will face Democratic challenger Jason Jobe in the November 3, 2026 general election. District 1A is one of the most reliably Republican districts in Maryland, with Hinebaugh winning in 2022 with 77.3 percent of the vote.
