Wayne A. Hartman

Wayne A. Hartman is an Ocean City resident and current member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 38C, which covers east Wicomico County and most of Worcester County including Pittsville, Ocean City, and Assateague Island, seeking re-election in 2026. Born in Baltimore on December 14, 1967, he attended Eastern Vocational Technical High School and earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2006. He purchased his first Ocean City property at age 19 and has since built a portfolio of 40 units in the resort town as owner of Wayne Hartman Management, LLC. He served on the Ocean City Town Council from 2014 to 2018 before being first elected to the House of Delegates in 2018. He currently serves on the Ways and Means Committee and as Chief Deputy Minority Whip, a leadership role he has held since 2022. He has been a vocal opponent of offshore wind development off the Ocean City coast, a vocal critic of solar farm expansion on Eastern Shore farmland, and an advocate for making Maryland more economically competitive with neighboring states. He is running unopposed in the Republican primary and will face Democratic challenger Laurie Anne Brittingham in the November 3, 2026 general election, having won his last race with 97.8 percent of the vote.
