Tome, Sr. is a Port Deposit resident and candidate seeking election to the Cecil County Council representing District 4 in 2026, running as the only candidate for the seat. A well-known figure in Cecil County public life, Tome previously served as a firefighter and paramedic with the Cecil County Volunteer Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Medical Services, and served as Fire Chief of the Water Witch Fire Company in Port Deposit. He served as Mayor of Port Deposit from 1999 to 2003 and as a member of the Cecil County Board of County Commissioners representing District 4 from 2006 to 2010. He subsequently served as Director of the Cecil County Department of Emergency Services and as a member of the Cecil County Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board. He is taking over the District 4 seat from incumbent Donna Culberson, who is not seeking re-election. With no other candidates in the race, he is effectively elected to the seat.
