She currently serves as the Chairperson of the Charles County Board of Education and has held leadership roles as the Chairperson of the National Black Council of School Board Members and as a board member for the National School Boards Association (NSBA) and the Maryland Association of Boards of Education (MABE). In her capacity as school board chair, she oversees a $529 million budget and serves over 28,000 students. Moore Lee was chosen by the Charles County Democratic Central Committee to fill a vacant seat in the House, although her selection is in conflict with a nominee from Prince George's County, leaving the final decision to Governor Wes Moore. Her platform emphasizes education, specifically the full implementation of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future reform plan by 2030.
